About Kongelig Danks Yachtclub
For the third time the Kongelig Danks Yachtclub (KDY) will be one of the hosting clubs of the Nord Stream Race. And for the first time, the 152-year-old club has also qualified as the winner of the Danish sailing league for the 1,000 mile regatta on the Baltic Sea. The KDY won the very first edition of the Sailing Champions League back in 2014.

Founded in 1866, Kongelig Dansk Yachtclub has been Denmark's largest sailing club since its merger with Rungsted Kyst Yacht Club in 2000, with more than 2,200 members. Since then it has established marinas at three locations in and around Copenhagen. It was in 1891 that King Christian IX granted the club the right to bear the royal title, so it was fitting that Queen Margarete II took the opportunity to open the newly built clubhouse in 2007.
